Tonight's homework:
  • Grammar Practice book p. 59
  • Study Words on the Vine (flam, pyro - fire)
  • Study Spelling words
  • Fraction - Common Denominator page

I sent home pictures of colonial clothing for parents with concerns for our Colonial Days.  This should be something simple and at NO COST for you.  Boys wear rolled up pants for breeches and a plain shirt.  Tall socks and regular shoes (no athletic shoes) and maybe a vest.
Girls can wear a long skirt borrowed from a mother, aunt, older sister, etc.  A simple blouse will do. Girls usually wore some kind of cap to keep dust and dirt from collecting in hair.  Girls did not wash their hair as often, so caps kept it cleaner longer. Also, an apron was often used in front of skirts or dresses.
Please call me with any concerns you may have.

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2010.  Years ago that sounded like a million years in the future...and now we are living it.
Tonight's homework:
  • Math Study Link 6.9
  • Grammar Workbook page 57 (prepositions)
  • Look at Spelling words for this week

Our Colonial Days will be toward the end of NEXT week. We will have discussions tomorrow about period clothing to wear as well as writing descriptions and dialogues of our colonial occupations. Parents will be invited to attend if they like.  We have a couple younger classes coming to visit, also.

WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A GREAT 2010!
