Assignments were distributed for Body System display.  Your child has one of the following systems: Circulatory System, Respiratory System, Digestive System, or Skeletal System. I have supplied tri-board displays which need to stay at school.  All of their drawings, diagrams, data, etc can be stapled in place. The more artistic or colorful, the better the grade. Projects are to be completed by Friday, November 6.

We are still working on our original Halloween books which will be read to a second grade  class on Friday.

I am out on Thursday due to a math conference I am teaching.

Students have been frantically working on the research for their explorer.  All reports are due this Friday.  Many have already completed and turned in the final project.  On Friday students will be the expert and report out to everyone in the class.  We will post our work in the halls for the other 5th graders to see wat we have accomplished. I have been extremely pleased with the dedication many students have shown so far. This is a bright and creative class. All reports will go home before fall break so you can enjoy them as well!

New Program - SpellingCity.com

Parents;
Here is a cool sight which combines our current spelling words with a variety of games.  The 5th graders got a chance to work with this program last week. After playing with the words, many received a better spelling grade! I'm not sure about a connection yet, but it surely cannot hurt. Your 5th grader knows how to find our class list.  Let them show you what they can do!

Week of September 21-25

This is a review week for our classroom. Every sixth week we look at the prior five weeks and look at what we have learned in reading and grammar. At the end of the week we will take a "benchmark test" which includes everything we have studied since the first week of school.
