We began exploring Microsoft Powerpoint in the computer lab.  Students are creating their own book to be presented the first week in December. Ask about the topic they chose!

We have had a busy week getting ready for our science displays. The Body System project is due tomorrow. I let students have time on the computers today to print out pictures they may need.  Several students completed their research as well as the display board! Excellent.
Homework:

• Read 15 minutes
• Study Words on the Vine (aqua, hydro - water)
• Study spelling - the words are on Spelling City as well as their assignment notebooks
• Science - finish materials needed for Body System Display

Today we wrote some poetry.  This free style is called Life Poetry.  It does not rhyme but is very descriptive.  It is six stanzas long which is a lot for 5th grade. The 5th graders were coming up with some fantastic pieces. We are going to publish them and display the poems for all to admire.  I was impressed!
